Good planning beats quick fingers. That's the idea behind Echo, my second mobile game after Carve: a puzzle where the biggest obstacle on the board is you, or rather, everything you've already done.
What is Echo?
Each round, you guide a little ghost hero across a floating island to grab the gem. Simple. But the moment you reach it, your whole path is recorded and replayed as an echo: a glowing copy of you that walks the board exactly the way you did, step by step, round after round.
Touch an echo and your run is over. So every path you choose today becomes an obstacle tomorrow. Take the shortest route every time and you'll soon box yourself in. Leave yourself room, and you can keep going much longer.
How to play
- Move across the board and grab the gem to finish the round.
- Your path becomes an echo that repeats your moves in the next rounds.
- Dodge your echoes, collect coins, and see how far you can go.
- Use the next-step preview to see exactly where each echo will step next.
Ten worlds, ten twists
Echo takes you across floating sky islands, and each world adds its own rule, so it never feels like the same level in a new color:
- Fog hides the board. Only the glow of the gem and your echoes lights the way.
- Mirror echoes walk your path flipped left to right, so you plan for two places at once.
- Ice makes you slide until something stops you, and your echoes slide too.
- Portals link the board, for you and for your echoes.
- Lava vents, flickering echoes and timed gates keep the later worlds tense.
Three goals, three stars
Every level has three goals. Reach them in one run to earn all three stars, then choose to keep going for a bigger score. Collect enough stars and clear a world's challenge level to unlock the next island.
Cute heroes to collect
Unlock new characters as you play and pick your favourite. Your echoes take on your hero's look, so every run feels a little different.
