Defend Deep

Behaviour

• Defenders stay close to goal
• Minimal forward movement
• Compact defensive block

Best Used When

• Counter Attack
• Shoot On Sight (works with Defend Deep only when midfield is not pushing forward. Otherwise the defensive block breaks.)
• Facing pace-heavy attackers

Key Advantage

• Excellent at denying space behind the backline.

Support Midfield

Behaviour

• Defenders step into midfield during build-up
• Improve passing options
• Help maintain possession

Best Used When

• Balanced formations
• Passing Game
• Midfielders with discipline

Risk

• If midfield pushes forward simultaneously, shape collapses.

Attacking Full Backs

Behaviour

• LB/RB push high and wide
• CBs remain defensive anchors
• Create wing overloads

Best Used When

• Wing Play
• Strong wide midfielders or wingers exist
• Opponent lacks wide threat

Risk

• Wings are exposed instantly if possession is lost.
