Best 631B Tactic • Deep Block + CAM Release

Formation reasoning, vulnerabilities + fixes, and 631B tactics across all strength buckets.

631B is a defensive formation built around a heavy back line (4 CB + RB + LB) plus a compact midfield triangle (1 CM + 2 CAM), feeding a lone striker. It’s designed to absorb pressure, protect the box, and break with quick vertical attacks through your CAMs. Below, you’ll see the exact 631B tactic setups by strength bucket, displayed in the same grid style as your tactic overview.

Quick notes: 631B is naturally defensive, so your plan and style should stay conservative and compact. Pressing should be low-to-medium (you’re a deep block, not a high press team). Tempo should stay controlled—never go high tempo against a better opponent. With many defenders, zonal marking is usually best; avoid man-marking when you have defenders to spare. Offside trap is rarely worth gambling on with many defenders lined up. Tackling: be firm, but don’t go reckless if the referee is strict.
